Yellow Door Bistro - Calgary

We dined at Yellow Door for my birthday this past week and I can not sing my praises loud enough. A warm, stylish environment was the perfect back drop for a dining experience that started with bubbly and came to an end with amazing deserts and specialty coffees. Every little detail was well attended to and our server, Cory, catered his service to our group, giving some spot on cocktail suggestions as well as offering a wonderful wine pairing for my salmon entree (which was as delicious as it was beautiful). The menu had something for everyone in our group and flexibility when it came to some dietary restrictions for some guests. We will indeed be returning for another experience at Yellow Door Bistro!

Anytime I want a great atmosphere, good service and delicious food this is the place that comes to mind. I've never had a bad experience. I recommend the 5 course Chefs choice. Always tasty and the element of surprise and creativity is well worth it.

Normally, I do not post any restaurant reviews on Facebook BUT the Yellow Door Bistro is truly exceptional enough to warrant one (I 'm more of a Zomato poster). Service was truly 5/5. Our waitress was very attentive and her knowledge of wines were astounding; she always made sure to fill up more if desired. Portions are on the smaller side, but the taste of our food was exquisite with the MOST PERFECT medium rare steak I 've had the pleasure of tasting in Calgary! Not to mention, the truffle-shaven tagiatelle carbonara was spectacular. The egg and cream never tasted too heavy and fatty, which is my main gripe with most 'carbonara ' dishes served. Of course, the tagiatelle was cooked al dente and the bacon was just right. The chefs certainly took utmost care in their cooking preparations as the quality of the food was excellent. I will be coming back here for sure. This is definitely a place for wine lovers to try out as well.

This place is amazing from the mouth watering food to friendly staff. The spelt beet risotto was tasty. The scallops with pork belly were all cooked to perfection. The lamb loin with shank was my favourite. Everything everyone else had smelled delicious. Another homerun for Chef Duncan Ly
