Grist Mill In Wash - Calumet-Norvelt

Perhaps it was because we walked in during the last 45 minutes of breakfast, but our server clearly didn't want us there. Breakfast was a buffet, so there was no cause to be less than welcoming. The food was fine, nothing special. They had a good fruit selection.

Waste of money, average hotel buffet, overpriced, minimal healthy options.

Wow so good. The ambiance is not memorable, but the food is amazing. Also, don't be put off by the bland descriptions on the menu Chef Will Artley adds layers of flavor to each dish, often times with a pop of heat or extra flavor right at the end of the bite. And the presentation of each dish is so beautiful and visually appealing and creative. Five stars!!

While on vacation in Washington DC, we were searching for a last minute restaurant to dine with our family. We were happy to discover Grist Mill, which was conveniently located within walking distance. We were seated promptly, and both the food and service exceeded our expectations.

Unbelievable little gem of a restaurant inside the Hilton garden inn of all places. Incredibly good and VERY reasonably priced food. I had the shrimp n grits as well as scallop appetizer special and this chef knows how to cook. Bravo!
