My experience at this restaurant was fantastic. The food, the atmosphere, and our server Isidora were all outstanding.
Environment was very nice, clean booths and friendly personnel. The crater salad was just lettuce with matinee sauce on top, nothing special. The mains were fine however. Location is the best there is. Next to the treasury building.
Old Ebbitt Grill is one of those classic D.C. spots that never disappoints. I recently went there for dinner, and the old-school charm is what stood out immediately. The dark wood paneling, vintage decor, and bustling atmosphere make it feel like you’re stepping into a piece of the city’s history. Their oysters are a must-try, and I couldn't resist the crab cakes—they were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The service is friendly, and despite how busy it gets, everything feels well-organized. Whether you're grabbing a casual meal or celebrating something special, Old Ebbitt Grill has that timeless appeal that keeps you coming back.
Unfortunately, there were no available seats when we arrived, so we had to sit at the bar, which wasn’t ideal. Their steak salad was fantastic! The steak was delicious and soft. However, the shrimp pasta was slightly undercooked for me. The pasta was a bit firm and chewy, also the shrimp could have been cooked a bit longer. The cocktails were excellent and strong.
