Írjon visszajelzéstI have never tried a sweet treat from Rose Ave Bakery that I didn't like! Most items are phenomenal with perfectly balanced flavors like the Butternut Squash Curry Tart and BBQ Pork Pineapple Buns and Triple Berry Coco Basil Donuts. The Black Sesame donuts are rich and umami and lightly sweetened. I'm not usually much of a cake person, but I make an exception for Rose Ave's passion fruit cake. It's indisputably delicious (in I once gave an extra slice to my barista, and he tracked me down to ask where it was from).I haven't tried many of the savory pastries, so I can't speak to those as much. Personally, the drinks that I've tried were not memorable and from what I remember, not great value either. The team behind Rose Ave does a fantastic job of paying homage to classic Asian flavors and nostalgic delicacies, while constantly innovating and experimenting. It's quintessentially Asian American. At their old location at the Block Food Hall, the lines would regularly go out the door and the inventory would almost always sell out before closing. But it was always worth the wait.
Nothing brings joy quite like a sugar-coated, fluffy donut. Though at Rose Ave Bakery, the happiness doesn't stop there. What brings people from far away to wait in winding lines are the beloved flavors from Asian cuisine are in almost every creation. The past and present menu items include the milk tea donut, black sesame donut, ube coconut donut, kalmansi meringue donut, and injeomi red bean cookie. Plus, they offer special seasonal and holiday items that showcases the creativity and drive to be different among the bakery scene. Their active Instagram helps me plan my next trips to try their latest thing. I always have visitors from out of town try it. I've even carried a couple of donuts with me when I travel to friends in New York! The passion fruit donut is always a hit. What you also see through Instagram is that the bakery is a labor of love. The owner really cares about everything that is sold and the customers. I'm happy to have supported them in the beginning when they were almost exclusively preorder with few items you can buy in-person. Since then they have grown to be open more days of the week and offer more baked goods! I'm so happy for them to be moving out of the Block to their own storefront soon. It's so well-deserved! Overall, I believe the lines are worth it to wait in. Just get there early!
No words can explain the happiness that Rose Ave brings me I'm so sad that they'll be moving further away from my work. Over the years, I've tried many of their sweet, delectable goodies. I can honestly say that I have not had a bad one. Each one of their pastries are thoughtfully balanced in flavors sweetness. They've nailed the sweet savory combo down to a T. My favorites have always been the ube coconut donut, ensaymada, ube kouign aman, strawberries cream kouign aman, matcha chocolate chip cookie. Their donuts are HEAVENLY perfectly light fluffy with the best fillings. I love the cream cheese filling in the ube kouign aman I recently tried their strawberries cream one it was to die for. Also tried the congee balls so crispy on the outside creamy inside. Made me wish I tried their savory options sooner! Absolutely love their green Thai tea for a refreshing drink.Gosh, I love this place so much. I will gladly make the trek to their new location b/c its just worth it. One thing is that now I hold every bakery to Rose Ave standards nothing compares. Thank you for the memories smiles for always brightening up the darkest of days with your delicious treats.
Yum! What a delightful bakery to visit! It's located inside a mini food hall type of location. At first sight, you find all the pastries you can order laid out in front of you. So many delicious Asian inspired flavors to choose from, both sweet and savory. During this visit, I went with the Ube Cheese Kouign Amann, Injeolmi Red Bean cookie, and a savory BBQ Roast Pork Bun. My favorite of this bunch was the injeolmi cookie what a treat!! It was topped with the sweet and nutty soy powder, and filled with delicious red bean; it was incredibly satisfying and I'd definitely venture back just for this cookie. The kouign amann was good and perfectly flakey, but I'm a huge ube fan and wanted more ube! Next time I'd buy the ube butter made by Rose Ave to add extra ube on every bite. Be prepared for a long line! I arrived around 9:15 am, and there was a huge morning rush. It moves relatively fast, but without surprise, everyone in front of me walked away with a whole box packed of the various tasty pastries. If I have time, next time I want to try their drinks all sounded amazing.
Everything is tasty here! You have to go early to get the popular pastries before they run out! I'm definitely a big fan of their ube pandan flavor donut. There was a seasonal item- mango sticky rice was also delicious! If you are craving for a morning coffee a good pastry, I highly recommend rose ave.
