Establos Meat Market - Camarillo

During my visit from Sydney, Australia, I was thrilled to discover this restaurant. The atmosphere is very authentic, and the burritos are enormous—big enough to feed a small village!

This place used to be fantastic! The quality of the food has changed, probably due to different cooks in the kitchen. I still enjoy their shrimp cocktails and micheladas.

You place your order for restaurant items at the cashier, where the portion sizes are impressively generous. I highly recommend trying the Caldo de Albóndigas—deliciously large meatballs served in a flavorful soup with rice and vegetables, perfect for soothing any cold. Whenever I feel the slightest hint of a sore throat, Albóndigas is my go-to remedy, and they even provide a side of lemon. This isn’t your average soup; it’s hearty enough to share or save for later. I suggest ordering it when it's available, as it is a seasonal offering. You can check for the soups by looking for the handwritten sign behind the cashier, which adds to the authenticity of the place. That's my take on Establos. I got the chile verde burrito and holy moly was it good. Everything about it was great (tortilla, meat, flavor, rice, size, temperature). Absolutely would recommend.
