I often go here for a pot of tea but today stopped by for a simple lunch with my daughter. I had poached eggs on brown toast both just right and lovely bread and my daughter had the aubergine dip with pitta bread. The dip was hot and nicely spiced, much more interesting than expected. We've also had delicious welsh rarebit before and great omelettes. Such reasonable prices for good food. Long may it continue.

Popped in here for lunch whilst visiting the nearby Royal Free Hospital. Varied menu with specials but opted for club sandwiches and fries. The club choice was bacon, chicken and avocado and it was excellent, with a small side salad. Great fresh juices too. Definitely worth a visit if in the area.

Difficult. Ideally should be 3 stars. A pretty looking cafe/eaterie in prime South End Green location. Tables outside for a good day.Menu suited out needs:A good coffee machine, sandwiches, salads, fresh fruit juices. Good looking ingredients.The three of us sat by the window ordered our brunch: Cheese on toast with perfect poached eggs, and two chicken/bacon/avocado toasted club sandwiches. Brown bread sliced, no selection, but fine). The chicken was fried schnitzel. Not very healthy, but very tasty for a back street cafe. I'd expect better from this location neighbourhood.The problem started when, after ordering, I went down to the ladies... Apart from the damp smell and old school-toilet style cubicles, they were not up to par. One was dirty, the other didn't have paper. So i took paper from the dirty one into the clean one. This whole experience sallied by view. Upon returning upstairs to the cafe I peaked into the kitchen. This looked good, clean, guys grating carrots, scooping out fresh avocados. I was pleased!But on returning to the table and sharing my shudders, we looked around and everywhere was dirty, old, grimey, wall paper taped down near the serving area. Nothing a good wet cloth bleach) couldn't improve. Apart from some fresh paint over the brown existing. Wires everywhere.Dirty looking sockets...As for the bathrooms, why not have a half-hourly rota at least remove the several empty loo rolls and put new ones in their stead? And please... send someone down with the toilet-duck every so often. Very unpleasant indeed, especially when food involved.Our server was sweet, the prices are good, food tasty adequate wish I hadn't gone downstairs before eating) but no way will I be returning until hygiene improves. And why should I with all the other options, plenty non-chain, within close proximity.

They have various great dishes including specials of the day, I recommend the Persian stew thing they have sometimes

Been several times no complaints so far. Called in a couple of weeks ago. My wife daughter and I were in a bit of a rush re hospital appointment. We were served quickly, politely and efficiently. Food was on time and excellent. Bryan Gilbert
