Hartstone Inn - Camden

There were just a couple of things worth mentioning: 1) The walls are somewhat thin, so we could clearly hear our neighbors snoring, as well as the church bell that rings every hour, day and night, from our room (Toscana). 2) It was a bit challenging to find staff during our stay. However, I understand that we visited at the end of the season, and staffing issues can be common. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this inn. If you’re a light sleeper, just be mindful of which room you choose.

The bathroom was particularly concerning; the caulking in the shower and around the baseboard was rotting and moldy, and the exhaust fan was heavily dust-laden. Additionally, the baseboard heating fin had fallen off and was lying on the floor, and the sink faucet was installed at an angle. To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi did not work in our building (though it was functional in the main building). On a positive note, breakfast the next morning was delicious, but I couldn't help but notice a chicken wing bone on the floor near my feet, likely left over from the previous night's dinner. I understand that staffing shortages are an issue, especially in a high-priced vacation area, but the problems we encountered seemed unrelated to that. While the staff was friendly and the location was excellent, we unfortunately cannot recommend this establishment to others.

Additionally, the main building is not accessible for individuals with disabilities. I observed a staff member assisting a woman in a wheelchair down the stairs. However, the office staff and food servers in the main building were excellent. I would consider returning, but I would choose to stay in the main building next time. We enjoyed breakfasts and one dinner there, and the food was outstanding.

We stayed in Toscana on the second floor. The room was clean, comfortable and quite lovely. The staff was extremely kind and attentive and the location is walkable to everything in town. We enjoyed the daily breakfast menu and would also encourageanyone visiting Camden to make dinner reservations at the inn. The dining experience was wonderful. We had a group of 6 andeveryone loved their meal. Thank you for great Maine getaway!

We had a very nice stay here. The Inn is clean and comfortable, with great amenities, and an excellent staff. The location is perfect for exploring Camden and nearby towns. The only thing that could have made our stay better was having a room with abathroom in it instead of down the hall, but it was the only room available. We’d happily stay here again if we return toCamden.
