Írjon visszajelzéstWe enjoyed a delicious three course meal here; lovely bread with herb butter and red pesto, soup, and beautiful pink lamb fillet with a herb crust and sweet potato, and a creme brulee with passionfruit ice cream and yoghurt foam. The wine list is excellent.
Simple, fresh food cooked to absolute perfection! After meandering through the streets we were warmly welcomed to this cosy mountain hotel/Restaurant. The fire was lite and seated in the dining area. The menu consisted of the monthly specials, cold and warm starters, soup, main course and dessert. We could have tried everything on the menu but went for the salad, tartar, salmon, beef, gnocchi and the chocolate to finish with. The salad is the best I’ve had in italy; crisp, fresh and packed with herbs, avocado and all the goodness of local ingredients. My colleague had a generous portion of salmon and we shared the tartar. Unfortunately, for my preference, the tartar was a little flat and flavourless but that’s my preference and I made this aware to the service staff. The beef was accompanied by fresh vegetables and the beef itself cooked on hay; the aroma was fantastic. I tried my colleagues gnocchi and again, very rich, wholesome and perfectly cooked. The kitchen team, from what we sampled excel amazingly in cooking local, fresh ingredients to absolute perfection. There’s no fancy flare or anything out of the ordinary which is the case nowadays with gourmet food. This is simple and extremely tasty. Service was done by a gentleman who was polite and very efficient in his work. Highly recommended!
Our expectations were high when we headed for the little village of Ahornach, especially as we got this tip from our land lord who told us this was her restaurant for special occassions....the experience was sensational and widely exceeded our expectations : The way vegetables and herbs are treated here and form the heart of every dish is unbelievable. Simple things like a pesto or a tartare of aubergine bring out the best of the ingredients and the inventive nature of the chef. We tasted the 4 course menu and were able to sample a lot of different dishes, accompanied from very reasonably priced) wines. The very pleasant and correct waiter guided us though the menu and explained the dishes very detailed. Portions and pace were correct. I would rate this restaurant as the only Michelin star quality restaurant around Sand in Taufers,mit should therefore clearly be the #1 restaurant in the Tripadvisor list, the other 2 above it now are in a different league.
Set in the foot hills between Sand in Taufes and Rein in Taufes this family run business is going from strength to strength. The menu is seasonal and local and what's on offer is to be enjoyed by everyone. Cold, warm starters, soup, pasta and fish and a glorious dessert menu. The spinach salad was probably one of the most delightful salads I've ever had. Everything combined from the local spinach to the honey and nuts just was a really treat. Unfortunately the tartar was not to my liking as it was pre made from the kitchen and I would have liked it a little bit more seasoned and spiced. The dessert had three different elements resembling a cigar...each element separated was a tad strange but bringing the dish together was truly wonderful on the taste buds. The price is not cheap for this area but the food really speaks for itself. I would highly recommend and will return before they close for the season at the end of October. The service is with a smile and from the local family. Reservations are a must for weekend dinner and they have 3-5 course degustation menu which I can't wait to try.
The food and the whole environment is prepared with love. We like that the menu is designed with ingredients in season, which makes you feel how they incorporate everything with nature. The waiter is the only person serving the whole restaurant of 10 tables, and still able to chat with his customers and work with ease. My kids love his sense of humour and that he told them about one of the table in the waiting area age 250 years old amazed them!
