Raku - Canberra

This is by far the best Japanese restaurant in Canberra but also one of the best I’ve ever been to, full stop. As good as any I’ve been to in Tokyo, and I have been to many. Now, I admit the flavor is a little different from ordinary Japanese, and that may not suit the purists and the psueds. Also one of the best restaurants in Canberra. Owner/chef Hao san is spot on here.

A big thank you to the team at RAKU tonight. I brought my family along for a special occasion and they treated us so well. This was the first time some of them had tried Japanese food and they were blown away not only by the quality of food, but the service that came with it. We had some special requirements and they not only catered to us but they looked after us so well. I can’t recommend them enough. Thank you to everyone there.

Third visit. Just great, again. Beef cheeks, lamb spare rib, eel nigiri, wasabi butter, smoked miso. This place is a trip to flavour town.

We had a spectacular time at Raku. Mel made our night celebrating my friends birthday! Thank you Raku we will be back over and over again! Highly recommend

It was the best Japanese food we have had in Canberra! Service outstanding, beautiful green tea, heavenly sake with the Tasting Menu which comprised wonderful taste and artistry in presentation.
