Waldorf on London - Canberra

Pretty awful Service poor Lighting dark and dodgy. After experiencing the food I certainly would not stay there. Just awful awful awful. Rather eat pig vomit that eat here. Not to mention floor dirty and Cockroaches crawling around on the floor. **** coffee too

We regularly have catch-up drinks here with friends and colleagues. Also good for pre-show dinners with reasonable prices and reliably good food.

For dinner I chose the chicken Schnitzel for $18.50 from the bar menu which is cheaper than the main menu. You can choose which type of gravy you would like from a choice of about 4. I chose the mushroom sauce.The beer battered fish looked nice as well.Service was quick as the place was almost empty, which was surprising being a Friday night, although most people in Canberra seem to be office workers who quickly evacuate the city area shortly after 5 pm.May try the $10 lunch menu soon as it seems a bargain.This place is just across the road from YHA and next door to the Waldorf so easy to find.

Decided to eat here one night as we were staying in the adjacent apartments. I chose the seafood risotto - mussels, king prawns, scallops - all mentioned in the menu description. Lovely green lipped mussels, and king prawns but no scallops. I should've mentioned it to them but we had to wait quite a while to order, so didn't want to have to wait again for my meal. Both our meals were nice but the service was very slow.... there was only us, another table of 3 and a table of 1. I'd hate to see how they coped on a busy night!!

Positives ..- full one bedroom apartment with full kitchen and laundry facilities.- spacious modern kitchen and bathroom.- within 0 - 5 minutes walk to anywhere in Civic and maybe one minute more to Bars and eateries of Braddon.- indoor heated pool and spa. Yes heated. - Foxtel.- gym.- friendly welcoming staff.Negatives .. - TV's should be put on the wall. Maybe just being picky but would look more modern.- Doona cover a little thin although warm.-Shower curtain. Was extremely clean however glass would have been more modern. - Gym needs updating. Free weights, mats, flatscreen TV, water cooler.All up, hotel does need a modern freshen up. Warmer colours to modernise its look and feel. My final vote, I would stay again if looking for a full one bedroom apartment.
