Fred's Pizza Shack - Cap-Pele

Food was cold and took a very long time. Not much flavour. Staff was taking their masks on and off. We went because of friend recommendations, but left early due to the poor taste in food. More effort is needed.

Amazing food in giant portions. Amazing service and the environment is comfortable and relaxed. You have to try the fish cake!

As usual, when I visit a new seafood restaurant, I tried the Fish Chips. This time, I was especially gratified. The batter was light and crispy. The cod was white and flaky. Together they were absolutely incredible. Not sure if I'll be a regular patron, but I certainly was happy today.

Popped in here on our way through town during a roadtrip. After all the great fish and chips I've had i found this place to be somewhat lacking.i did not order fish and chips as i prefer haddock and they had only cod. They only served margarine with somewhat stale buns and the condiments were all in small take out containers. The food was okay bacon wrapped scallops and a bloomin onion did not feel inclined to order anything else after those. Maybe we missed out on their specialty but overall i felt disappointed.

In the world of fried seafood, in particular fish and chips, Fred 's is definitely king. I have been coming here for longer than I can remember. The atmosphere is a diner type truck stop kind of place, but any restaurant boils down to the food. I basically get the fish and chips all the time, but have tasted some of their other seafood options like fried clams, fried shrimp and fried scallops. All of those are delicious as well, but you can 't beat the fish and chip at Fred 's. Between the generous portions and the option to make your chips into poutine , you can 't go wrong. The fish batter is light and not overly greasy around the tender pieces of cod. Nothing fancy with the poutine, but the cheese curds are right, the fries are thick cut and the gravy is the right consistency. I actually perused the menu this time for fun and they have a full menu including many non seafood options. Fred 's is always a must whenever I am in the area
