Cactus - Cape Coral

The chips were fresh, but they could have been a bit saltier and served warmer. The salsa was mild but flavorful; I have low expectations for spicy salsa in Florida. I ordered tacos—two steak and one chicken. They came with two corn tortillas as they should and were quite good. The steak was cooked to perfection, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chicken was flavorful, but it was cut into very small pieces, which reminded me of canned tuna. I would have preferred larger chunks so I could avoid taking a big bite of shreds. Nonetheless, it was still quite tasty. My wife had the steak enchiladas with red sauce. Here’s my only minor complaint: the fluorescent lighting in the restaurant has a cool/blue hue that made the green walls appear very vibrant. This lighting also affected the red sauce, giving it a rather Halloween-like color that was a bit shocking at first. (I'll leave it at that.) However, they tasted great. The service was good; the waitress was a little shy, and I did notice that my tacos arrived a few minutes before my wife's plate. This is something I pay attention to, especially when dining together. The rest of the menu looked appealing and offered a great selection, including a decent children's menu. Although I missed it this time, it looks like they have a good variety of Mexican sodas, which I plan to try on my next visit. The prices were reasonable, if not on the lower end for the portion sizes. We both ate for around $20 and left satisfied. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit.

My husband and I dined at this restaurant, and we enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. We often find ourselves visiting for breakfast or lunch when it’s not very crowded. However, as another reviewer mentioned, our server seemed a bit shy or detached—not rude, but there’s definitely room for improvement in customer service. While I recognize that it’s a casual dining spot, good service can really influence whether someone decides to return or leave a review like I’m doing now. That said, the food was tasty, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. We’ll definitely return, especially when they have live music!

Absolutely amazing! This is a family-owned and operated restaurant. The only thing better than the fantastic service was the food. I'm telling you, the service was excellent. You can't miss the rice – it's a must-try. The Taco Salad is enormous and incredibly delicious. My husband ordered the Cactus Fajitas and loved them so much that he went back for the Mexican steak; for him, there was no room for conversation during lunch! I can’t say enough good things. It definitely deserves five stars and more. You've got to check this place out!
