Mel's Diner Cape Coral

There are so many food options available! I particularly enjoy their breakfast menu, and their milkshakes are a favorite of mine as well.

I just had an amazing experience at this diner! Coming from Michigan, it felt like a taste of home. Tina really made it special; she's fantastic! I will definitely return.

There are a lot of choices on the menu. The specials are always good that day of the special. Great service

I ordered the chicken fried steak, medium eggs, and hash browns. The “award-winning sausage gravy” was decent but not award-worthy. The steak was hot, tender, and quite tasty. The eggs were more on the over-easy side than medium, but thankfully, there were no runny whites, which would have cost some points. The hash browns were crispy throughout. Overall, while it wasn't the best breakfast I've had, it certainly wasn't the worst. The biscuit was good, and I even ordered a few to take home. The prices were reasonable for the portion sizes; the steak was large enough to take up its own plate, and I ended up bringing half home. I forgot to snap any photos, but I’ll update later if I remember, as I plan to return. Although this may not sound like a glowing review, after enduring the mediocre food from my cruise's upgraded meal package, I found this meal to be delicious! Even without the cruise comparison, it was great, and I’ll definitely return. I picked up my Christmas turkey dinner for the family, and it was nicely packaged in a box. It looks and smells amazing. I’ll post pictures and another review tomorrow. Give these folks in Cape Coral a try!
