I celebrated my birthday and anniversary dinner there on July 8th, and then I experienced a master class gifted by my wonderful sisters on July 15th, 2017. My sister's review captures the experience perfectly. I will definitely be returning and recommending it to everyone I know!
I recently booked a Master Class at this restaurant for my sister's birthday through their user-friendly online system, and I received an email confirmation right away. Although there were some initial hiccups with the booking being canceled because they lacked an Executive Chef, everything turned out wonderfully in the end. When they learned the reservation was for my sister’s special day, they went above and beyond to accommodate us. The talented sous chef, Lyle Brinkhuis, stepped in and led the session, which made the experience truly exceptional. My sisters and I had a fantastic time cooking in a top-notch kitchen, receiving guidance from a world-class chef, and enjoying the warm hospitality from the staff – Buddy, Marche, and even Charlene and Carol from reservations. From the moment we arrived until we left, everyone was attentive and addressed all our needs. Thank you for providing such an incredible experience, which my sister described as "the best birthday gift ever." We will definitely be returning!
What delicious meals! During my stay at the hotel, I decided to try the restaurant downstairs. On the first day, I ordered the lamb shank, and it was absolutely delightful. I ended up coming back and this time I had the lamb curry, which was also cooked to perfection, and the garlic naan was irresistible. However, the service could use some improvement. On both visits, there was only one waiter managing the entire restaurant, which was certainly a challenge.
As soon as you walk into the Hilton hotel, it's hard to miss this contemporary space on your left.<br/ <br/ The decor screams elegance. I am enthralled. They've done a great revamp and I love how much attention was paid to detail. From the glass door screen, to the high wooden tables, the lighting and right down to the TEAPOTS, they've just done it right.<br/ <br/ I'm honestly not sure which I'm more excited about. The decor or the food. (Scroll through the pictures of the decor! <br/ <br/ So we spent a rainy Sunday afternoon, post picnic, looking for something hot to drink. We had no intention of a fancy place, just a quick coffee or in my case, a rooibos tea would do.<br/ <br/ We were seated quite quickly. It was nice to have the place to ourselves before the crowd came in. The menus were encased between 2 glass slabs, which I found quite different. It's really nice but it's abit difficult to pass around or place elsewhere because of the weight. They have a variety of both hot and cold drinks, including freshly pressed juice. The cake/dessert section is limited. They do have the basics tho. I'd love to see some macarons or mini cakes on the menu<br/ <br/ The waiters were abit slow in taking and bringing the order. There were only 2 of them on the job, despite the large crowd that came in after us.<br/ <br/ We ordered tea and a coffee, with a croissant and brownie to go with.<br/ <br/ I was thrilled with the tea presentation. The cups and the teapots had quite an African look to it but tied in quite well with a rest of the decor. The tea arrived piping hot, which was great. However, I needed some lemon slices to go with my rooibos tea and they took a whole 10 minutes to get it. They also add a little cookie on the side. A lovely thought, I'd think.<br/ <br/ The chocolate croissant was abit dry and old. It was really hard to cut it. The presentation of it was good tho. There was a generous amount of chocolate and nuts on it. It would have made all the difference to the overall flavour if it was fresh.<br/ <br/ My friend said the sweetness of her chocolate brownie was over powering and the consistency of it wasn't like how a brownie is meant to be.<br/ <br/ I am absolutely blown away by this place and I can't wait to sample more stuff on their menu. More especially from the actual restaurant. Everything's strictly halaal and there's no alcohol server here either. A great bonus !
I walked in here for breakfast the day after their opening- following much hype on social media. <br/ <br/ I opted to dine from their menu rather than the buffet, to have the fine dining experience. Unfortunately I was left a little underwhelmed. My MLT croissants were absolutely tiny and I left hungry. It was just slapped onto my plate- what happened to plating meals for your clients?<br/ <br/ I understand that they were busy with the buffet- then perhaps not allow walk-ins from the public in the morning?
