Ons Huisie - Cape Town

Just a stone's throw from the sea, and you've arrived! Wow, what an amazing restaurant. The location is absolutely ideal—truly perfect! While the atmosphere could use a bit more warmth, the staff is exceptionally friendly. The place is indeed pet-friendly, which is a great bonus. Despite a bit of a mess, we were well taken care of. The food was fantastic, and we enjoyed a lovely evening watching the sunset, which made us very happy! I highly recommend Ons Huisie. Plus, the story behind Ons Huisie is fascinating!

The first time to eat here after several car rides and we turn away as it seemed so busy and the parking is always full. Good to see you. Fantastic views during food, fantastic ambience, fantastic service and amazing food. Jalapeño Poppers were crispy and tasty, I had the shrimp and Calamari combo that was fresh and tasty, woman had the fish and chips that was also amazing. I just wish we could have taken the amazing tartar sauce home!

The outdoor tables offer a wonderful view. Just keep in mind that on weekends, the place gets quite crowded, so it's best to make a reservation or be prepared to stand in line! Fortunately, the line moves fairly quickly, so waiting isn't too much of a hassle. However, we felt that there weren't enough waitstaff, but hopefully that was just a temporary issue since we visited on a weekend.

I absolutely love this restaurant! It's always busy when we visit, which speaks to its popularity. The location right on the beach is just perfect. I really appreciate the homemade chips—thank you for that! The iceball dessert is always a winner; it's enough food for two. The seafood here is also excellent. Our waiter during our last visit was exceptional—he was very attentive and clearly knew how to do his job well. I must mention that our previous visit also featured a fantastic waiter, another guy who did a great job.

What a quaint restaurant. Really cares about their clientele and great quality food. Great service with a genuine smile. Almost feels like home away from home. Thank you to my waiter THEO, I will come back because of him. Ask for Theo.
