Fairyland Chinese - Cardiff

Despite its claim of authenticity, this restaurant fell short of expectations. The ambiance was lackluster, with waitresses in hoodies who seemed uninterested. I had to actively seek out a waitress to place my order, as they were preoccupied with the kitchen staff. The food was unappealing and vastly different from what was portrayed in the menu pictures. Additionally, the restaurant had a low hygiene rating. Needless to say, we will not be coming back.

If this restaurant were situated in the city center, it would likely be more popular. The food here is outstanding, and is easily the top Chinese cuisine in Cardiff, offered at a very reasonable price. The only downside is the service, as it appears the waitstaff are inexperienced young students. The fish dishes are particularly recommended, as they seem to be popular among the Chinese patrons. I will certainly be visiting again the next time I am in Cardiff.

I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a Chinese cafe/restaurant in Cardiff on game day while trying to escape the crowds. Situated in the student area, not far from Gassy's, it seems like they have been keeping a low profile because it's amazing! The food is truly authentic, not your typical British Chinese dishes. The menu includes pictures to help you choose, and all our dishes came out hot and fresh. My favorites were the chicken and cashew, and the spicy pork, but there were plenty of other choices too. They also have a variety of beers and wines available. A visit to this place is definitely recommended.

Fairyland Chinese restaurant is a small cafe style restaurant. The staff are pleasant and the atmosphere is great! The food is really authentic..the sea bass is definitely worth a try! Recommend.

Stumbled across this place and so glad we did! The food is fantastic, so tasty and I’d say probably the best Chinese food I’ve ever tasted. Staff were friendly but don’t go expecting plush interior as it is more like a cafe but the food...makes up for that. I would have given a except that it was very cold and could have done with turning the heating on. I look forward to eating their delicious food again.
