Fish Field - Cardiff

Excellent wine and food pairing with great service. This small restaurant has a coffee shop attached. Their food is always based on fresh local ingredients and is prepared and served in a fresh contemporary style. The black pudding fried meatballs were fantastic and the scallops were large and well sauced

My family had a wonderful lunch here. The children enjoyed delicious fish and chips. The adults had a variety of interesting fish options to choose from on the menu. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the prices were very affordable. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

The restaurant was completely empty on a long weekend, specializing in seafood. Unfortunately, our experience was not positive as the mussels were sandy and the sewin fish had a unpleasant taste, indicating it was not fresh. It was a disappointing visit as we were the only customers that night. Hopefully, the restaurant improves quickly to attract more guests in the future.

A friend recommended that we drop in to Fish Field after a walk in Roath Park. I’m so glad we did! The staff were really friendly and we could see the chef as he was happily working away. The decor is a bit quirky which gives it a fun but comfortable feel. We ordered some tapas and although not all of it was what I’d expect (ie Spanish) it was really delicious. We also ordered the ‘proper fat chips’ which were amazing!! A really enjoyable and relaxing lunch. Would recommend and I’ll definitely be going again.

There were four of us in our group, including a friend who was very ill and had dietary restrictions. We visited on a busy rugby international day and were incredibly impressed by the caring, attentive, and courteous service we received. We were grateful for how well our needs were accommodated and the food was excellent. We cannot speak highly enough of this restaurant and its staff. It is definitely a must-try! You won't be disappointed with just one visit, I can assure you.
