I have eaten at The Masons Arms a couple of times previously and been impressed, but this time, I was not overly enamoured. It was during a rugby game, so it was a noisy and friendly atmosphere. The staff were lovely and there seemed to be hundreds of staff. The food, however, was only so-so. It was nothing special and didn't have the same finess it used to have. I had a burger and paid extra for the cheese option. The burger patty was very tasty however the bun was just basic, the sauce too was basic and the cheese was a supermarket square of processed cheese dumped as almost an after thought in top of the patty, tasteless and not even meted onto the meat. A first for us, deserts were basic and somewhat taistless and we actually left some on the plate. This was disappointing to me. We all came away a little down trodden. Unfortunately, it may mean this will be our last visit there as there are plenty of other venues nearby that still seem to tickle or taste-buds more. We had a fab night with our children and grandchildren eating was nice staff very friendly we booked for vatertag now xx

Customer service award to the lovely Maxine (Landlady) who went off-menu to magic up an alternative to the meal two of our party wanted which was not included on the specials board. You 've got to love her !
