West End Cafe - CARLE PLACE

I will always hold a special fondness for this restaurant. The food and service have consistently been exceptional. It is a hidden gem located off of Glen Cove Road in Carle Place.

I experienced discrimination at this restaurant and felt upset as a result. My friend and I tried to have a meal there, but were informed that they were fully booked.

Menu is OK even though it is a bit expensive (see this is the problem everywhere lately). The dining area is very nice and the attention was paid to the acoustics that are suitable for a simple entertainment. Try it.

Limited choice for vegetarians and not suitable for vegans, but the dishes I had pretty good. The speciality of the cook, roasted cauliflower with dried cranberries and spiced feta cream would have been quite delicious if it had not been excessively carburized. My entrée was a lemon ricotta ravioli in a buerre blanc, which was tasteful but heavier than expected. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the most important lime cake, which was one of the best I ever had. The Graham cracker base came apart, but that didn't make any difference in the end. I would just come back to have this dessert again and I am curious to try their chocolate Bourbon Pecan cake when it is on the menu again.
