7 Mile Kitchen - Carlsbad

The restaurant had the potential to be quite good, but the execution fell short. The fish and chips were decent, but not remarkable. The bolognese was very greasy, and the mai tais were watered down. It’s not likely that we’ll be coming back.

This restaurant is situated conveniently in the Sheraton Carlsbad hotel, but the convenience is somewhat diminished by slow service and a limited, pricey menu. The dinner offerings are decent, featuring standard American dishes like burgers, pasta, and pizza, with a few vegetarian options available (such as the Impossible burger and salads). However, the lunch menu is quite limited. It would be nice to see more diversity in the menu items. Overall, the food is mediocre—edible but quite expensive, as you would expect at a resort. Additionally, the service can be painfully slow at times, so parents should be mindful of that.

I was seated and left without any attention for 20 minutes before I was finally able to get the server’s attention. She took my order and then vanished for a while. She returned twice—once with my food and once with the bill. The restaurant wasn't busy, yet she served others who were seated after me before coming back to me. The food was mediocre at best. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Just checked into the Sheraton Hotel, Carlsbad which this restaurant is adjoined to. Friendly staff ushered us to a table with a nice view of the pool area. Order the blat sandwich and it was dreamy smokey flavor from the thick cut bacon. Also for myself got thev impossible Burger which not only had great texture, it had great flavor. Nice start to a mini stay-cation.

Sitting is outdoor by the pool area with patio cover on top. Heaters placed over the tables, which was great since it was a little chilly during our visit. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food was good, but slightly higher priced and portions were small. Overall we enjoyed the dinning experience.
