Lou's Catering - Carmel

A few days ago a friend brought breakfast sandwiches from here, they were delicious! Today we came back to breakfast. Fresh cup of coffee was given up for us, the tasted great. I ordered the western Omelet with Cheddar cheese, houseries and rye toast. Everything was delicious, better than homemade! I was eating here many years when I worked in Carmel when Lou ran the diner. Lou's son Gary leads the place now and was very friendly and polite. I'm definitely back.

Best house cooked tasting food round. Seriously, my omelets always taste as if it were literally made with love and care. Thank you.

Great all place! Excellent service and awesome food. A little pricey for a diner, but not out of line for New York.

I 've driven by Lou 's Restaurant numerous times saying I 'm going to stop in there one of these days. Well that 's been going on for a few years and today me and Dad went. This has to be the most quaint and cozy vintage style diner in the area. A lunch counter with fresh baked pies and pastries. Soda Beer on-tap, great coffee, trophies and old photos on the wall and home of 'Carmel 's Award Winning Chili '.(I have to go back for that. But it was breakfast time, and I opted for the special 'Eggs Louie ' which was two perfectly poached eggs ontop of Canadian Bacon on a buttery english muffin covered in melted Cheddar cheese, served with hearty home fries. (see the photos I 'm glad I took the waitress ' advice and got the special... It was absolutely delicious. The service was great, our waitress refilled the coffee several times and checked in on us. Love this little restaurant and can 't wait to bring the rest of the family there in the fall. If you 're hungry and near Route 52 in Carmel or neighboring Kent, Stormville or East Fishkill... Skip the fast food and keep driving until you see the Lou 's Small Red Restaurant... you 'll be happy you did.

A hidden gem on Route 84! The food was absolutely fantastic, and the service was outstanding. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Although the prices were on the higher side, the portion sizes were generous. It's a wonderful spot to grab lunch or breakfast! Overall, a great place to visit!
