The only issue was that we had a waiter service area right at our back, which was disappointing and, at times, very loud as they were getting new table settings out. Other than that, it was wonderful. They even gave my daughter a free dessert for her 25th birthday celebration.
I Live a block from Vivante. I have eaten there dozen 's of times including the 1st year they were open on NYE, Brunch and my father 's Celebration of life in the PDR. This was my Birthday dinner. My Mother my Step dad 's 1st visit. After 45 min of not having our drink or food order, we flagged someone down.The gal said that she was training but would take our order that she wasn 't sure what was going on. We waited for over another 25min for our drinks glass of wine, scotch soda and a coke Another 40 minutes, for our entree 's total over an hour for our food chicken, salmon and a cheese burger. Food was just ok. So, apparently, short servers and short in the kitchen. My mother Step Dad are still talking about how horrible the experience was. I assured them that our dinner and service was not indicative of Vivante. They are adamant that they do not wish to return. I can not say that if that were my 1st experience at Vivante that I may feel the same. No clue what was going on. Beyond an off night. We had dinner on 30th 31st both nights were packed ! at a competitive restaurant up the Monon to have flawless service which we don 't expect service to be flawless but 12/29 was atrocious ! food quality Incredible. I don 't like to leave less than perfect reviews but ! Vivante needs to know if they don 't already. No one else dining on 12/29 could have been very happy with the service or food quality that evening. Pretty Much a train wreck from beginning to end. Embarrassed that I suggested as I will never ever hear the end of the debacle from my mother. ;
The food and service was good! For food at that price point, it fell very flat. Having been to a couple French spots, this is the best option in the Indianapolis area. So I would recommend it if you have an immediate craving for French food, otherwise I would stick to NY, DC.
Service was great. Tables are a little too close to others if you're a 2 top. Had the short ribs they were good, but left hungry. Wife had the halibut she liked it as well. Price was pretty high for what it was. Noting spectacular
Second time here and I can honestly say this is the worst service I have ever received from a restaurant that pretends to be high calibur. First was galentines celebration last year. took 20 mins to get server to table, 1 hr for food. server didn't seem to care, spilled wine in the table. didn't clean it up. we had to ask for it to be cleaned up, to which she brought napkins for us to do it. since she spilled the wine, there was none left. we had to ask for a replacement. she came with a carafe 1/8 filled and set it down (no new glass just the one with wine dribble on the side this time it was a $30 igloo rental (not including food). despite it being 11:30 and their breakfast ends at 11, the hostess told us it was still only breakfast. after waiting 10 mins with no server in sight (with 1 other customer in the whole place) i went in to requeat a server. server was behind the bar and snapped at me that she would be right out. 10 mins later she came out. we waited for 45 mins before our order was taken. 1 salad, 1 pasta and 1 grilled cheese came to $108. I realized why no one seemed to care that we were not properly taken care of. there was a built in 22% tip. for an “autograph collection “ hotel, this was horrendous. Lastly, they did not take Apple Pay. again, upscale restaurant in an upscale 5 star hotel? not even close. terrible.
