The sommeliers here are friendly and very knowledgeable. I had a wonderful experience with Chuck and Glen, who patiently answered all my questions. We even managed to incorporate discussions about the singer-songwriters we love and miss—John Denver will always be remembered. Long live Carmel Valley!
Pinot lovers will be impressed. Having tasted a broad range of Sonoma Coast and Willamette Valley pinots, the ones that Cima Collina produces stand out from the rest. Unique and Nuanced flavor profiles that are in the medium body range not watery where there is little flavor but not a full frontal assault of the senses either. Highly recommend plus walked away with a case of their 2010 Pinot for a steal!
Kind, warm and informative staff at the Cima Collina tasting room made our exploring of their flights of wines all the more enjoyable. The (very small-production) wines here are fuller-bodied and homemade. The Chenin Blanc white wine was a pleasant surprise, subtle and fresh yet still expressive.
This is wine month, and they are offering Chardonnay for $10 and Pinot Blanc for $12. Both are definitely worth twice their price—what a fantastic deal! Additionally, I must say that all the Carmel Valley wines are exceptional.
