Greetings Don Ernesto Moro parish priest of Seano until September 2023!!!!!! I thank him for what he did for me and my family!!!!!! For the pilgrimages experienced in Mesdugorie in Poland and in other sanctuaries in Italy!!!!! It was an early medieval parish church recognized by the Bishop of Pistoia with the diploma of Otto III in 998. The ancient parish church was cited in the minutes of pastoral visits as Ecclesia S. Petri de Seano in 1561 and subsequently, in the 19th century, underwent some interventions including the placement of the baptismal font and the choir loft on the counter-façade, where it was then inserted the organ. Between 1900 and 1910 the floors and the roof were replaced and two altars added and ten years later, between 1920 and 1930, the four altars were reorganized and the façade rebuilt with the partial integration of the sandstone wall facing of the lower area and with the creation of the entrance portal and the two symmetrically placed mullioned windows. In 1990 the roof was restored and in 1995 a partial renovation of the flooring was carried out. The façade shows the historical stratification of the interventions: the lower part is composed of regular blocks of sandstone arranged in a row that recall the old medieval structure, here the stone portal opens, surmounted by a lunette with a ring of white and green marble blocks ; the upper part, with gables, is simply plastered and enriched by two mullioned windows with a ring of white and green marble blocks, slightly set back from the surface of the facade. The interior of the church has a single nave with an exposed wooden trussed roof, the large side walls are enriched by altars and a pulpit in pietra serena. The presbytery delimited by a sandstone balustrade is illuminated by two rectangular windows on the sides and the main altar in pietra serena is surmounted by a nineteenth-century canopy, on the sides two doors with a broken gable crown allow access to the sacristy. On the counter-façade there is the choir supported by four columns and two half-columns plastered with composite capitals and pedestals.
