Baghdad Bakery - Cary

I’ve been shopping here for years and absolutely LOVE their freshly baked bread Iraqi samoon bread. If you love bread, then you’ve GOT to give this a try. It is so fluffy and delicious!! I love buying thing in the grocery section to compliment it like a creamy labneh.Their bread is also a nice break from the norm if you make sandwiches. Just slice the bread open like you would do with pita bread and insert your preferred deli meats, cheeses, and/or condiments. It’s heaven in your mouth.

We occasionally visit Mediterranean stores to try some products. Picked up few items from their store along with the freshly baked samoon-Iraqi bread. The woman on the cash counter was so sweet suggested to try the Iraqi bread which was kept under the towel. And I must say, it was simply delicious, warmed it up a little after coming home had it with olive oil herbs dip, I also added a bit of fried green/red chilli paste it was delicious. If you visit this place, don’t forget to buy the Iraqi bread, you can make boat sandwiches or have it with dips, hummus or baba ganoush.

This is a fantastic place for Iraqis looking for Samoon and other treats. It’s heartwarming to walk in and see the family atmosphere, with the women greeting customers and chatting cheerfully. The baker starts early to prepare the bread, and you can really taste the care that goes into it. Definitely consider taking a five-minute detour to visit this charming family-run business!

Fresh, hot bread straight from the oven—absolutely delicious! The only downside is that we live quite a distance away, so it's torture smelling it all the way home!
