If you're planning to eat, avoid going with a group at all costs. The food by the way? Just ok. Certainly notworth the wait; but if you're going for good music to dance to you won't be disappointed. Just make sure you've eaten a goodmeal before you get there.
After recieving enthusiastic recommendations, we decided to host our Local Cousins Night Out at Capachos Bar&Grill. What we found was a small, but well appointed restaurant with a serviceable dance floor. The menu offered a delectable assortment ofColombian specialties. The service, though courteous, was slow and sometimes disorganized, the food, however, was worth thewait. Absolutely delicious! The DJ begins pulsating the Latin music at 10:00 pm, mixing a tantalizing variety of salsa, merengue, bachata and more. If your searching for a place to dance the night away to the scintillating beats of Latin rhythms, this is the place to come. They don 't close until 2:00 am on weekends.
Today, my family and I went out for lunch, but we regretted our choice. While our waitress was very kind, she was on her own, which led to delays. We ordered a few empanadas, but they arrived half-frozen. We informed the waitress, and they were taken back to the kitchen. Unfortunately, when the fresh ones were brought out, they were frozen again. At that point, we decided to leave but were still charged for the frozen empanadas. I'm hopeful that if I decide to return in the future, the experience will be better.
It’s a pleasant spot to dine, but be aware that the waitress informed us they add a 20% service charge after 9:30 PM. That’s quite excessive!
We really hope we just happened to visit on an off night. The atmosphere is set up for a fun time, but unfortunately, the food didn't meet our expectations. I ordered the churrasco, and it was tough, making it difficult to cut and chew. My companion got the Bistec Encabollado, which looked identical to mine and was equally hard to manage. My wife chose the Pollo a la Parrilla, and it was both chewy and tough; we suspected it might be undercooked, so we sent it back. When it returned, it was still the same way. My wife only took two bites—one before sending it back and another when it came back to the table. No one came over to apologize for the chicken, and our server seemed unsure of how to handle the situation. We paid our bill and left feeling quite disappointed, quite literally with a bad taste in our mouths. It's unfortunate, especially since there are so many wonderful Colombian restaurants in the area. We thought this one would be great too, but sadly, we were mistaken. Perhaps it's best to stick to the drinks and dancing. The appetizers were decent, likely because they don't actually make the empanadas on-site. Good luck!
