Casearia - CASSINO

We had the best made to order sandwiches of our italian trip, if not lifetime, when we just happened to stop here while passing through. The staff were amazingly helpful to a family of Kiwis who couldn't speak italian. Everything from the bread to the salad veges, cheese and meat was fresh, local and tasted fantastic. Stop in buy some lunch and grab some of the other wonderful local produce. We only wish it wasn't a passing visit but it's a long way to go from New Zealand even for food that good.

I waited to test the products brought home with me before reviewing Casearia. Test passed: exquisite mozzarella (different from any other ever tasted, qualitatively comparable to the well-known ones of Battipaglia and Casertano), substantial scamorza (decided and full-bodied flavor) and finally the tasty and surprising Zazzicchia di Patrica. Maybe not all cheap but all delicious.
