The School House - Castle Douglas

The food was amazing! I chose the salad with fish and meat, and it was delicious—so fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. The portion was more than I could finish, and from what I saw at other tables, generous portion sizes appeared to be the norm. My husband had the sausage and speckkuchen, and he was equally impressed.

Wow! If that had been my last meal, I would die happy. I had breakfast, and it was absolutely delicious. The haggis and black pudding were superb. The coffee was fantastic, and the staff were amazing. I would recommend this place a thousand times over!

Excellent in all areas. of excellent parking, beautiful environment and tastefully decorated and furnished to good toilets. the ambiente was good, the room was bright and airy and of a pleasant temperature. two stunning long burners that add a touch of classy and cozy welcoming atmosphere. all staff were very friendly, attentive and accomodating and all were well presented and wearing masks right. the menu was well prepared with a good selection of food and drinks from local suppliers. they have a good choice for all palate and catering for those who have diet requirements. our order was taken in time. I chose the car and I wasn't disappointed. with a selection of two meats, 3 vegetables, boiled and roasted carrots, gravy, yorkshire puddings and ride my meal was hot and tasty. the bark was made beautiful, tender, melt in her mouth, certainly a good quality cut of meat. excellent yorkshire puddings and perfect roasted potato. the desserts and sweet offers were all extremely tempting. all homemade and from a high standard. reasonable price for quality and quantity. the old school house is definitiw a visit in the beautiful rural environment of dumfries and galloway worth.
