I love this little gem! Always a smile served from this family run place with the delicious made to order sandwiches, soups and pizza, and oh the borsht is to die for! There is so much going on in this little place like the home made take and bake dinners from lasagna to shepards pie, and dont forget about all the beautiful desserts, if you haven't stopped you need too!!

All fresh sandwiches made on the spot with morning fresh baked bread ,muffins and & excellent coffee to go or stay in. Staff is always cheery & hepful

Comfortable cafe with a friendly kitchen and made from scratch yummy lunch, snack, and light dinner foods ... a perfect spot to finish off an active day in hiking along the Kootenay or Slocan Rivers. This spot is a very quick drive from Castlegar (about ten minutes) and reliably open on weekends (unlike a lot of the restaurants in the 'Gar where operators don't seem to have figured out that weekends and holidays is exactly when friends want to meet up for a brunch or lunch and an outing). The Market also has an expansive Deli section for take-a-way foods to do up in your oven when you get home. All sorts of perfect end-of-a-hard-day treats like Mac & Cheese and Chicken Pot Pie in generous portions. This is really handy if you are staying in a rental cabin for a holiday, or for locals who want a good meal but are too hungry to cook!
