The Old Fig Tree Restaurant - CAVERSHAM

I’m very fussy about lots of things especially food. (My other reviews either rave or burn.)This place has been a go to since I found it. My favourite dish the beef with veggies and Marsala sauce on papadelle with garlic sauce is no longer on the menu. If it ever comes back, try it!! It sounds strange but I’d soooooo good. This place is great to take family and friends to, especially good for grandparent visits. Fabulous desserts. Fine for the breadth of ages.Service can be a bit hit and miss. Some staff are great, some are kind of awful. Hopefully the ones obviously hating their job will have left the service industry as not for them next time I go there. It’s not working out for anyone otherwise.Great drinks including non alcoholic options eg being able to get a very reasonably priced drink of cordial in nice flavours. A definite find.

Running out of food early in the evening is unacceptable.

The food and atmosphere at this restaurant were wonderful.

I dream of and crave their bruschetta with reduced balsamic vinegar. Fantastic food and service every time!Also a great selection of drinks from the local wineries and breweries.

Good service great food. idealic setting. unfortunately needs more toilets. 1 toilet for all is not good enough.
