Oh no. My go to ramen shop was closed, so we came here as it's nearby. The food is edible but not good. The ramen noodles were spot on and the cashiers were nice kids but that's about all I can say. I did like the tables and little stools, that's a nice touch.
First, there are 3 different menus. You have to ask if they have stuff bc it might not be on the menu you're looking at. They don't make anything spicy. The meat in our dishes was completely unseasoned. The chicken was as white as a ghost no flavor to it. Worst fried rice I've ever had. Tried to play it safe. Worst fried spring rolls I've had. Undercooked. It was also cold with fans blowing on you from multiple angles. Will not go back.
I can only speak for takeout, but I am impressed! One of my pet peeves for restaurants is them not having your food ready for your pickup time when you put your order in in advance. But that wasn't the case here at all. I came in and my bag was ready, and the food was still hot. I could tell they were really attentive with the time as they had circled it on the receipt. So already, A+ service!I got the Volcano tots, popcorn chicken, and soup dumplings. And I was impressed with the size of the tots and chicken. It was a hefty amount and served as a side for several meals for me. Not to mention, they were both still crispy by the time I got home. Obviously for something like soup dumplings, it's not the best idea to eat it as takeout and I'm sure it's delicious in restaurant. But the flavors were still delicious and the restaurant packed it in such a convenient way to eat, which had been my concern because those things are delicate. I definitely want to come back and try their noodle bowls, hopefully in restaurant!
Finding a truly authentic soup dumpling spot 24 miles north of downtown Austin can be quite a challenge. Perhaps that’s why Noodle Alley feels justified in pricing their four-dumpling dish at a premium. However, it was definitely worth it. The noodles were a bit salty, but the portions were generous enough for an average foodie. Overall, it’s a charming little place to unwind and enjoy genuine Chinese family-style cuisine.
