Cattails Cove - Cedarville

They have gluten free! I’ve been gluten free for years. While it’s not an allergy it definitely makes me sick if it ends up in my food. For the first time in a very long time. I was able to have fried fish at a restaurant. I was very happy with my fish. I love walleye. It was lightly breaded which was a bonus. The fries were what made me give 4 stars. I wish they were crisp. We also ordered the perch which was not gluten free but they also weren’t overly breaded. Thank you for a great meal y’all! Kitchen closed at 9pm. The ladies working were friendly and stayed on top of making sure we had all we needed!

I read some good reviews about this restaurant, so I decided to order the white fish dinner. Unfortunately, the fish was served cold and the kartoffel wasn't much better. The waitress seemed to be hard to find and only checked on us when we were halfway through our lukewarm food. When I mentioned the issue with the cold fish, she insisted that it couldn't have been cold because she took it straight from the kitchen to our table. Even my husband, who usually finishes everything on his plate, didn't finish his fish or the kartoffel. Overall, I would not recommend dining at this restaurant again.

Ellen and I have reviewed restaurants for 30 years. Most are good, some surprisingly exceptional. SQCattails is the latter. Nothing fancy, but excellent food and service. Why exceptional? The French fries are homemade, in a class by themselves. The whitefish wrap we had yesterday, besides other sandwiches, get an A+. Beer list is very good. If you can get a Guinness da U.P., that is a good sign….and even a Bell’s Porter. We have had nothing but efficient and friendly service. The outdoor area is wonderful along the lake side. Don’t miss this one.
