Salumeria Montuoro Palinuro - CENTOLA

We stumbled upon this gem of a place and were delighted to sample the delicious, high quality local food and wine. There's no menu, just put your trust in Gaynor and you won't be disappointed with the excellent delights she serves up. She also explains the provenance of the food and wine and explains what is on offer before serving. It was a pleasant change from the traditional restaurant food, served in the area (although this is delicious too). We returned every evening until we departed and were not disappointed. Gaynor and her husband Amodeo also prepare excellent panini and we ordered some for our return journey to the airport. They also sell a wide range of cheeses, oils, wine and charcuterie etc. Fluent English spoken for non Italian speakers. We'll definitely go back on our next visit to Palinuro. Give them a visit it's easy to miss, but be assured, you won't be disappointed with the welcome, the food and the service.

What a great find. This a must visit- nothing was too much trouble and we gots lots of help and recommendations. The focaccia and bruschetta were my favourites. Thanks Gaynor and Amadeo.

During our one-week stay in Palinuro we experienced a warm welcome and found a familiar place, an anchorage for our lunch. We were coming almost every day for fresh and local food and for nice talks. All the best for Gaynor, Amando and family. Absolutely recommended!

We were wandering around Palinuro looking for a snack... November 9, 2018. This sweet beach town was mostly closed for the season, but Salumeria Montuoro Amedeo was open. It looked a lot better than the few other places we noted as we walked down the street. We were not disappointed. We had simple sandwiches and some very local wine and a great conversation with Gaynor. Not able to carry a lot home on the plane, I couldn’t buy the pasta I wanted but we bought some wine that was great. As we were finishing our sandwiches, Gaynor treated us to some local anchovies served on bread with tomato and olive oil and butter! It was amazing! I’d love to come back here in the summer when there is more fresh local food to try.

Gaynor and Armando run a lovely little shop here, full of fresh cuts of meat and cheese. A great place to grab a home made sandwich before heading off to the beach. Gaynor makes fantastic salads too packed with local produce.
