We went here in the middle of a snow storm just after Christmas. Little did we know we'd be in for an amazing treat and long, pleasant evening that we won't forget any time soon! The restaurant is like a living room in someone's home, with a warm and cosy atmosphere. The set, secret menu changes from day to day and on this day we got a wide selection of piedmont specialties. Nine courses for a very modest price, it felt like a robbery, but the other way around. The portions are NOT small!!! Being a vegetarian I got my own plates, and starting with fried dough pieces and the most amazing pickled zucchini that I still dream of. Followed by delicious carrot/cheese cake, caramelized red peppers, egg/vegetable salad, cheese soufflé w. Red cabbage, delicious cheese risotto, the most amazing ravioli with ricotta/herbs, baked fennel/potatoes and finishing with delicious homemade vanilla ice cream and a crisp, fine apple cake and coffee. You also get offered to choose from a huge variety of home made liqueurs. You definitely won't go home hungry! The service was great, very friendly and welcoming and the nice owner came by several times to ask about the food and talk about his farm and produce. To be able to eat locally produced food at the farm is not only awesome, but seemingly also getting popular here. Go here! You won't regret it! But book in advance, we tried to make it to La Gerla for a second time but they were always fully booked.
A fantastic meal of 9 dishes which, with local wine, cost just over €30 a head. Like similar venues in rural Northern Italy, no choice of menu except for the meat dish when we could have lamb or chicken. The other dishes were: local salamis and prosciutto, courgette mousse, ham roulade with a bean sauce, a carrot mousse, cheese souffle, risotto, stuffed pasta and two puddings on a single plate. All made on the premises and served in good portions, and very good quality. The restaurant had 9 tables with about 40 diners and was typically mountain rustic in decor. Our Italian hosts had tried to book many times before so it was their first time too. So it may be worth booking a room if you are staying in the area and want to try for yourself.
Very welcoming location located at the bottom of a valley. the owners are beautiful and helpful people. good cleaning of rooms and rooms. good cuisine with local products, many of which own production. honest prices. ease in reaching the most important plants.
Questo meraviglioso agriturismo vi farà sentire parte della natura, della tradizione e della famiglia. Ci siamo trovati benissimo, a nostro agio e abbiamo trovato una famiglia davvero disponibile, gentile e professionale che ci ha trattato al meglio. La cucina è ottima, prodotti semplici ma km 0 con un sapore unico. Sia a cena che colazione non siamo riusciti a trovare qualcosa che non ci piacesse, tutto squisito! La camera era piccola, curata e accogliente, ambiente ben riscaldato e fornito di ogni accessorio. Torneremo presto ne sono sicura!
