Wonderfully atmospheric and welcoming restaurant. Bruno and his staff never fail to offer the finest food and drink. Sensationally good! Merci Bruno!

We went for dinner from our Champagny en vanoise chalet and had a great time. The restaurant is in the next valley/village up, higher and more remote. The adventure of driving up there in the dark round the switchbacks, then (on the level onto the packed icy roads and parking amid the snow banks, whetted the appetite. If it was snowy, I would take a taxi. Inside, the atmosphere was friendly, buzzy, welcoming. The restaurant most certainly has quirky objects everywhere a good talking point and our style, Some people went down for pre or post meal drinks or snacks by the sunken fire great place for older kids to hang out. The meal was good, the usual regional cuisine but with a house twist and very well cooked and balanced, The 'brick of the wood ' and the 'regal of the wood ' turned out to be filo pastry parcels of delicious camembert on a bed of salad yummy. I had the best floating islands I have ever had and the iced souffle was good too. Two courses and one small glasse of wine each came to £50. The place was packed so do pre book. Then came the adventurous drive back down (all quite safe, just required concentration! . We had a memorable evening. I 'd love to come again, perhaps in the summer and do some walking. The valley, obscured in the dark, looks a very beautiful place in the pictures.

Concerning the restaurant part, it's good, mountain cuisine that I found effective, quiche with excellent leeks, nice discovery for the reblochon crust, desserts: panna cotta very very very good and crumble blueberry raspberry defending itself well Regarding the accommodation part, the dormitories do the job, one can say that it is in its juice but it is clean and for the fare and location it remains a very good value quality price

Meals without lodging. Excellent traditional restoration.

Come to 20 with family for 2 more practical evenings for us divided into 2 chalets, the refuge welcomed us as princes, thank you!
