Beefeater Hut - Chandler’s Ford

I visited this restaurant for the first time while in the area. Unfortunately, the service was unprofessional. The food quality was just average, though it was served hot. I noticed that the chefs were wearing dirty uniforms and had rings and piercings while preparing the food, which raised concerns about basic hygiene standards. The waitresses seemed overwhelmed, and the restaurant lacked organization, creating a rather dull atmosphere. Regrettably, I won’t be coming back.

My wife and I dined at The Hut for the first time and overall, we enjoyed our experience. The food was tasty, and the portion sizes were generous, with reasonable prices to match. Since it’s primarily a pub with full table service, the decor and ambiance don’t play a significant role, but they were satisfactory nonetheless. Our only concern was the service, which was somewhat lacking. It became frustrating to repeatedly call over the waitress because she was busy chatting with other tables, and this happened more than once. Considering she wasn't inexperienced, it was disappointing. Since this was our first visit, perhaps the service is typically better, but on this occasion, it left something to be desired.

We enjoyed a delightful Sunday roast during our visit. The atmosphere was charming, the food was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. Thanks to our Beefeater loyalty card, we get to indulge ourselves every now and then.

I used to love this place, came here for every birthday, but I was so disappointed this evening. The place was dead but we had to wait forever to get served, I went to the bar myself to refill my drink at one point. Food was average at best. Toilets had sticky floors and broken seats/flushes. Shame really, better off going to the King Rufus down the road.

Five weeks ago three of my party had bad stomachs the next day, contacted head office by email , didn’t get a reply. This week we thought we would give them another chance. 5.30 Saturday evening , ran out of t bone steaks, no king prawns, my son ordered surf and turf and they put two (yes two) shrimps on top of his steak. They were so small you could hardly see them. My ribs were so dry I think they must have been cooked at lunch time. This place is nowhere near what it used to be, it was my favourite restaurant in the area, won’t be back. If head office doesn’t care why should the staff. I can’t even give one star even though our waitress was very friendly. Ian Smith. I’ve had to give one star to post my review.
