Bakersfield East Blvd - Chaotte

Been going to Bakersfield since 2015. Originally from Cincinnati so went to the OTR location more times than I can count. We moved to Charlotte a few years ago so have visited this location probably 8-10 times. The food, service, and margaritas have gone way down hill over the past year or so. Wife went with a friend to Charlotte location and said it was the worst experience she's ever had. They never brought her salsa order and getting the bartender to take her order was like pulling teeth. They were sitting at the bar and it wasn't busy at all so there is no excuse. To add insult to injury, they stopped doing the house pickled jalapenos which were one of our favorite things. They must be under new leadership because it was also this way in Cincinnati when we visited friends about a month ago. Service in Cincinnati was great even though we were disappointed with the menu changes. Won't be going back as it's just not as good. Unfortunately this happens to a lot of restaurants over time so will have to find a new go to spot for tacos. Oh, and the queso just keeps getting more and more watered down. Add that to the list.

Went here with a friend. Great atmosphere and service. The tacos are the small corn tortilla street style tacos. I had fish, shrimp and al pastor tacos. The pineapples on the al pastor took over the taco. She had fish, shrimp and carnita tacos. She said the carnitas was dry. Short rib queso was unique and tasty. The short rib had great flavor on its own. Pineapple margarita and espresso horchata for drinks. Free parking in the adjacent garage. They have specials on Tuesdays. The bill for the two of us was $71 for an appetizer, 6 tacos and two cocktails. This is a chain restaurant so the “authenticity” wasn’t 100% but still a great place to eat and get drinks.

Perfect stop for drinks and appetizers! The taquitos were delicious. Service was friendly and speedy!

Luis is the BEST bartender there is. I get excited when I see him behind the bar whenever I decide to swing by on Taco Tuesdays. My usual go to is an Old Fashioned. This time he convinced me to try his Pineapple Margarita — once again he did not miss!
