Sal's Pizza - Chapel Hill

Pretty decent NY style slices/sizes for the cost. But don’t get a fountain drink here unless you want to pay over $3 when you can go 100 yards down the road to the gas station and get a bigger size drink (and more options) for less than half that price.Food: 4/5

Hello! I ordered two personal specialty pizzas online for pickup about 30/45 mins before closing. This was to be me and my wife's dinner after a long drive back home. We should have checked before leaving but mind you it was late into the evening and we were tired from the drive. My wife's pizza was correct to what she ordered. My pizza was to be a Deluxe specialty, but once we got back home it was just a plain cheese pizza. Edited The restaurant was quite quick in reaching out to us. They apologized for the situation. They also offered my wife and I a free pizza as well. ?

I have been to a lot of pizza places throughout the years and Sal’s has made a great impression on me, the Chicago pizza is amazing, we order a large just so we have leftovers and it is even better reheated. We always order the same pizza because it is that good and consistent

I love Sal's, however the price increases over the last year have now made it unaffordable and disappointing. Their 8 lunch sandwich combo used to be $8 something and $10 with tax. Unfortunately now it's $15.49 w/ tax and higher with tip, which is higher by a couple bucks than it even shows on the online menu and higher than if one were to order through door dash. I routinely have ordered directly by calling and then picking up but may not do so again as that price is now comparable to ordering something at Hurricanes game, not a lunch combo. I will however say though that the food is great, just not within reach anymore. :

The service is very friendly and the plain cheese pizzas are delicious.However, if you have a multi-pizza order, before you leave Sal's, word of warning....check your pizzas.We ordered two large cheese for our 5 vegetarian grandchildren. After picking up the pizzas and driving to Hillsborough in rush hour traffic, we opened up the two large pizza boxes to discover that one pizza was pepperoni, which none of the grandchildren could eat.My wife immediately called Sal's and was given a credit for a large pizza. For some reason though, the credit could not be applied to her credit card, but has to be requested during a future pizza order.
