General Stanton Inn - Charlestown

Roasted short ribs and plucked kartoffels were among the best I ever had. our server, patti, was very experienced and wonderful!

That was our first time we visited the general stanton inn. it was my birthday, and they sat in the narragansett room. the oldest room in the building, from 1667. I was pleasantly surprised with the cozy ambiente this back in the period. the food tasted good and the staff was attentive and great. it was an unforgettable first visit. we are going back to definitiw.

We went to The General Stanton in for the first time. It was a Sunday so it was quiet. The bartender person was very friendly. The service was fast and the food was very good. We spoke to the owners, who told us about the inn's history. All in all it was a very pleasant experience.

I could not get a reservation at East Matunuch Oyster Bar, but I found this gem instead. An old inn with a modern yet rustic feel. The food was fantastic for all three people in my party. Shared the brussel sprout appetizer and the special artichoke appetizer yummy, we scraped the plates clean. Then we all had different entrees and found them delicious. I had the Curious George adult beverage which was very good. Great time eating and drinking, but passed on desert unfortunately because we were so pleasantly full. The wait staff was excellent friendly and attentive. At the end of the meal they told us that a jazz band was set to begin playing in a different part of the inn if we wanted to check it out. We did and stayed for a bit longer enjoying the music and wonderful woman singing. All in all we had a very enjoyable evening. Excellent food and great atmosphere to an inn with history and character!

My friend and I went for brunch on a winter Sunday morning. The food was very good with interesting choices available. Top notch quality too. Service was excellent, very friendly, gave us plenty of time to catch up without feeling rushed. We even stayed for a second Mimosa. The Inn has been beautifully updated inside and out. I look forward to going back to try dinner next.
