Rapture - Charlottesville

All the food was great and staff was very pleasant!

Everything about Rapture was terrific. The service was prompt, food was delicious and the atmosphere outside was perfect. The only disappointment was the type of fish in the Fish and Chips tilapia. Yuck. My husband changed his order once our server revealed the fish. But he loved the hamburger he ordered instead.

This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. We picked it for its gluten free options and proximity to a wedding welcome party we were attending after dinner, but it ended up being such a great dining experience! We ate outside for a great ambience and people-watching on the downtown Charlottesville pedestrian mall. The staff was very accommodating to our one year old, who loved his fish and chips kid meal. We also had the gumbo and the tofu banh mi sandwich—both so good! And maybe it’s just cause we hail from Colorado, but the iced tea was amazing. Highly recommend.

What a treasure! We had never been to Rapture, and took friends with us, and all four loved the food and service. We were greeted by the owner, Janet, who could not have been more accommodating, friendly, and efficient. We sat outside and the weather was lovely that day. More importantly, our food was delicious. I’ve often had omelets that are rubbery and tasteless, but Rapture’s are the best—well-seasoned, light and fluffy, and hot (right out of the skillet! . The roasted potatoes were perfect; again unlike some brunch spots, these potatoes were not “stretched” with an over abundance of onions and green peppers. Finally, the bacon was crispy and full of flavor. Great brunch spot!!
