The Whiskey Jar - Charlottesville

This place serves the best burger in town—the smoked house pork burger with whiskey BBQ—and arguably the finest fried chicken around (as an entrée). Their whiskey selection is outstanding, and they feature live folk music on Saturdays. While it may seem like just another Southern restaurant, The Whiskey Jar truly stands out from the crowd. They're doing everything right!

Amazing! Although we had to wait a bit to be seated due to our large party of six, it was definitely worth it. The drink options were abundant, and the food selection was equally impressive. The appetizers and main dishes were both delicious and arrived at our table promptly. I enjoyed one of the best French dips I’ve ever had. The service was reliable and polite throughout our visit. Overall, it was a fantastic way to conclude a wonderful day in the Charlottesville area.

This is a fantastic restaurant in Downtown Charlottesville. The prices are excellent, the drinks are even better, and the food is really delicious! Even though it was busy, our server was attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. The outdoor seating provides plenty of shade, and the music created a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing lunch on a Friday afternoon.

A Charlottesville must for lunch or dinner. I have been here several times and have had nothing but amazing food and drinks. Cocktails, wine and beer with a nice whiskey list. A varied menu with something to appeal to any palate. Excellent service and staff too. Right in the heart of downtown Charlottesville at the West end of the walking mall. Do not miss this place!

GREAT restaurant. Not the cheapest option, but it?s legit. I especially like the drinks and the drink menu?solid. Great if you like to try whiskeys and bourbons. Food is also really good but maybe not quite as good as the drinks. : they have a decent sized patio area. Parking can be tough but there are spots around. Worth your time!
