Bains Fish - Charnwood

Been coming here now for months regularly and have never had a meal that I haven't enjoyed. Always quick service as you should expect from a chippy with a side of banter and a smile. Keep up the great work guys

I have visited this restaurant several times before, but had not been in a while so I decided to stop in on my way home for fish and chips with mushy peas. When I got home and opened the wrapper, I could tell that the chips had clearly been re-fried leftovers from a previous service and the fish batter was an unusual color, soggy, and tasted of pure oil. The fish was supposed to have been freshly cooked, but it was not. I was very disappointed with the quality of the food and will not be returning. It's a shame because this restaurant used to offer delicious food. I wonder if there has been a change in ownership.

Could tell we were given food left over from lunch time as nothing tasted fresh and everything looked dark and dry. Been here a few times, had problems a couple of times regarding hygiene and too much salt put on the chips. Going back to...the old chippy now though. Not worth the money.

Food delivered hot.and its the only chip shop to deliver to thurmaston,, food was lovely and pineapple fritter was the best ive had in a long time. I will definitely be using them again.our order was battered sausage watch was crispy and really nice.fish which...was fresh and really tasty chips where great plus other sides all of which were lovely also definitely try the southhern fried chicken strips and pineapple fritter need I say any more.. just the last thing staff so friendly and very polite from the lady on the phone the the delivery man all brilliant very well done . We ordered from Bains' through Just Eat but were told that our order was rejected by the restaurant because they were out of doner meat. This has happened to us before and usually the restaurant would call us to discuss alternatives. However, this time we were told to place another order through Just Eat, which we tried to do but still encountered issues. When we called back, we were told that the restaurant was closing soon, so it was too late to place an order. Overall, we were frustrated with the lack of common sense and consideration shown by the restaurant and felt that they did not appreciate their existing customers.
