King Fook - Chatswood

Use to named King Fook, and used to wait for their yum cha. food is average nothing special, service?  it was ok but slow, well "slow" service is a typical style of service in Chinese Restaurants, can't blame to much... However for its huge space and noise backgrounds, it would still be the place I will go again.

Have only been here for yum cha and the food has been steadily going downhill during our occasional visits. Two weekends ago, we came by for yumcha after an absence of one year and found the offerings to be limited. The quality was also inconsistent across dishes. We also had a booking for 11am but it took them nearly half an hour to seat us so note that booking doesn't mean you'll get a spot at the expected time. Service is a bit better than the average yumcha restaurant ie staff are friendlier and patient.

Hunger and cravings are two things that will get the best of you. Having already been once and had a rather lacklustre experience I didn’t think I would be back. However, cravings for yumcha need to be satisfied and hunger pains need to be attended to. Thus I found myself walking through the golden (signage) entrance once again. Food was okay, if I had to choose favourites it would have to be the veg/mushroom dumplings. Everything else wasn’t particularly memorable. And for the price, goodness, maybe cravings should just be ignored. The worst thing was the service. Sigh, why do the waiters work there when they just hate people in general? I had a waiter scrunch up his face because I asked for a drink (which is extra dollars for them by the way), and walk off without acknowledgment. But hey, a positive, he did bring me my drink… not without slamming it on the table though! All in all, I don’t expect much, but honestly they can do better. In many aspects.

Not my first time here and a rather good place to entertain Asian guests. The food is constant and always hot/ warm upon delivery. Pricing is a little steep compared to other places but nothing to drastic.

Never mind King Fook this is Fook King terrible!! Mains came out first then entree. Rice never appeared until the very end of the meal AFTER we cancelled it. The manager couldn't manage one apology. The staff were running round like headless chickens. The Scallops were over cooked. To get served took ages and the food took ages - if at all. Avoid this place and Fook King go somewhere else!!
