We had a blast at the meat raffle for youth sports at the KOC. It is a very large hall, very clean, nice bar. The meat raffle was ran like a well oiled machine, cant wait to go back for the next one. FREE BEER!
Have been coming here the past 4wks. for the fish dinners. Let me tell you that they are BIG. Breaded fish is a nice light batter, they also offer other dinners such as shrimp platter, scallop platter and seafood platter. The salads are delicious and homemade! If you choose to eat in you get a choice of soup or salad with the platter dinners..and the soups change every week! They also have a full bar.
One aspect I find less favorable is the admission fee structure. The admission packet costs a flat $20, without offering an option for a smaller admission specifically for regular games. When my husband and I play together, I usually purchase the full admission package, while he opts for the basic admission, which generally ranges from $3 to $5 and covers just a regular three-face game. Unfortunately, this hall does not provide that basic option, or at least it is not clearly indicated in their program or signage. Additionally, I prefer to play a nine-face page and typically buy one extra three-face card for specials. My limit is about 12 boards, as my reflexes aren't what they used to be! Here, however, the extra specials start at a minimum of six faces. I haven't encountered a hall that doesn’t offer a three-face extra option except for this one. My biggest concern while playing here is the way the screens operate. They have TV screens that display the numbers called during the game, but when a bingo is announced, these screens wipe and switch to show the confirmed bingo. This is problematic for players, as it becomes difficult to check your numbers at that moment—a common practice among bingo enthusiasts. This feature also discourages me from purchasing too many extras since it's hard to monitor your numbers between games. Overall, the bingo experience here is acceptable, but I would likely choose other evening games on weekdays over this one, so I don't plan to return to their 7 PM games anytime soon. However, there are fewer afternoon options available on weekdays. Due to my work schedule, I don’t often get to play in the afternoons, but if I have a day off, I might consider attending an afternoon game for a pleasant change from my usual 9 to 5 routine. While it's not my favorite bingo experience, it’s still an enjoyable way to pass the time. So, while I wouldn’t go out of my way to frequent this hall, it’s not entirely negative.
The bingo event was really enjoyable, well-organized, and offered a pleasant experience. The concessions had a diverse selection of foods, desserts, and snacks. The coffee was fresh, and all the volunteers were helpful and accommodating. Great job!
