On May 25th, 2024, I celebrated my birthday at L'Oree Du Bois in Old Chelsea. It had been about 20 years since my last visit and I was excited for a special dinner. The evening did not live up to expectations. I was joined by my friends Susana and Omar, who were dressed elegantly. Despite arriving for our 7:30 reservation, there was a long wait before our server greeted us. The service continued to disappoint as we had to repeatedly ask for bread and waited a long time for our food and drinks. The quality of the appetizers and main courses was poor, with the filet mignon being undercooked and inedible when it finally arrived. When I expressed my disappointment to the staff, they were dismissive and eventually asked us to leave the restaurant. Overall, it was a terrible dining experience and I will not be returning to L'Oree Du Bois. It is a shame to see a once fine establishment fall so far.
Good atmosphere and food. A bit on the pricey side for what it is, but the vibes are on point.
I've eaten there many times since the year it opened and the food and service have always been excellent. I think that says it all.
Restaurant has a cottage ambiance with very professional staff. I had the deer meat was cooked to perfection with a great sauce. Desserts were large and delicious. Menu prices were very fair. I would return.
