Although blackboards in the pub hinted at more extensive menus at other times, there was no apology for the limited selection, leading me to believe this is the norm. It appears that the restaurant may cater more to weekend crowds, as the lack of options suggested a lack of weekday business. Despite the limited choices, the food was decent and the draught Guinness was enjoyable. The staff were friendly, but the lack of other customers likely reflects the reality of the situation.
The Bed and Breakfast we stayed at on the outskirts of the Cotswolds was truly exceptional. Our room was delightful, complete with an en suite bathroom, fridge, and stylish modern bathroom featuring a spacious overhead shower. Carrie and Edith were wonderful hosts, and Carrie's delicious breakfasts fueled us for the entire day. The atmosphere of the pub was laid-back and welcoming, with the added bonus of Ziggy and Dolly, the friendly dogs. We would without a doubt return to this charming spot.
We visited The Lampet Arms for lunch. Sadly we were disappointed, the landlady was able to provide us with a fresh sandwich but it was not what we had hoped for.
What a pub! All my life I’ve been looking for a pub like this: affordable, friendly, the real deal! We bought 3 drinks, came to under a tenner. Lasagna and scampi were great cooked on site and really tasty. All in al, a great place!
We walked there last night with the dog for a quick drink and stayed for dinner. Phyllis, the landlady, was a delight to talk (and a really good cook to boot). The pub is child friendly and dog friendly and the regulars made us feel very welcoming.
