I never saw it in a hotel before and they should have said it was not allowed. the afternoon was very bad and the service appalling. we were under the impression that they had to prepare something in the last minute. the scones were probably the worst thing I've ever eaten and there was enough jam and saw for 1 person (we were 3) they never offered us fresh tee or something and they decided to present the bill without asking. the bill was £85 and to compare, we had recently afternoon the most in the hotel broadway, which was top class and cost £14.5 per person. there were only two other customers and when they left we were alone, so there was no atmosphere in the restaurant, although as we were with an old friend, it did not disturb us. if the afternoon is a standard to go past, then I would recommend this hotel or opentable to anyone. it's a big scandal when I spent 30 years ago that night there when it was under the previous administration and it was a first class hotel in every sight. I contacted the hotel directly and they offered us a free tee in the future, but in order to be honest, I doubt if I could override my wife for a second attempt.
The occasion was the birthday of my wife and I had booked a table for 6 for the afternoon. Unfortunately, it is by the morning that 2 of the guests were not able to come due to illness, but the hotel treated the change easily and without excitement. the hotel has a very impressive look with a tree-lined running gear (fully illuminated to dark). the inner had a corresponding manoriales store and we were in one of the dining rooms to a table for 4 of a window from which we could see some of the well maintained plots. it was Valentine's Day, and we noticed that the adjoining room and its tables were decorated for romantic evening meal. we were not surprised that there were few more diners, as it was a weekday afternoon, and we enjoyed the cozy intimate atmosphere. the food was carefully presented, good in quality and quantity, and there was a selection of tees. two of our companies have opted for a flöte champagner at a small price. as we had mentioned, it was a birthday, the waitress brought a little 'happy birthday' plaque with some edible goodies on him. the personal was friendly and friendly, and I would not have considered to recommend this place, and would be happy to go back there.
Beautiful house, with matching festive feeling with all girlands and huge Christmas tree in the reception area.
Food quality good beautiful ambiente portions small and expensive for what we had our bill came close to £200 for 4 people and we had no bottle of wine! bar eating looked much better.
It is a lovely venue and the food and service/staff were generally excellent, although our table wasn't pre prepared, and we seemed to be the only lunch guests (we had afternoon tea for lunch, having pre booked). The lack of background music, open fire and other guests resulted in a lack of the atmosphere we expected from a previous visit, and the staff were obviously very busy preparing for the evening Christmas parties.
