The Elephant - Cheshire East

I had my first meal at this restaurant since the lock down restrictions were lifted, and it was absolutely fantastic. The food and drinks were fresh and all six members of our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals. We had a great time here and the staff was very accommodating, with necessary Covid precautions in place. We will definitely be returning regularly.

The staff at this restaurant were very friendly and efficient. However, the food did not meet their usual high standard. Despite our disappointment, we did not complain as we were hungry and ate the meal. The garlic bread was burnt around the edges, with cheese trying to cover it up. The fish dish was noticeably smaller than usual, with minimal batter and overcooked on the inside. The pork loin was dry, and the mashed potatoes were stodgy instead of creamy as before. The gravy was also not great. Unless the food quality and cooking improve to their previous excellence, we will not be returning anytime soon. Overall, we left feeling disappointed with our dining experience.

My family and I have visited this restaurant a few times and always loved it. However, our most recent visit was disappointing. After booking a table, we arrived to find that the staff seemed unaware of our reservation. We were seated and given the Sunday lunch menu, but were informed that there were only limited options available. We were also given the main menu to choose from. When our food arrived, I was shocked to see a decline in quality compared to our previous visits. We pointed out issues with the gravy containing skin blobs and burnt Yorkshire pudding to our waiter, who seemed unphased by our concerns. The response we received was poor, with the waiter stating that they were not surprised and they were not responsible for cooking the food. To make matters worse, the chef appeared without a mask on, walking around the restaurant from the kitchen to the bar. We have previously recommended this restaurant to friends and family, but after this experience, I will have to retract my recommendations.

Called for a spot of lunch .. and can highly recommend this place. Staff were very friendly.. the new manager came over to introduce himself, all Covid friendly felt very safe.the food was stop on definitely recommend this place ..

Visited the Elephant for Sunday lunch with my wife and family, greated very promptly by very pleasant lady, Covid measures taken very impressive having shielding between tables. Lunch was extremely well presented and served to us all hot and plentiful.Apparently under new management recently, nothing was to much trouble for the helpful attentive staff.In summary would most certainly recommend and will return again soon.Well done.
