Unfortunately I found myself at the wrong George and Dragon prior to a family funeral in Cheshire. Martin tried to get me a taxi to the correct village, well to the north. When this failed he grabbed his car keys and unhesitatingly drove me north, just in time for the funeral. I’m so grateful and commend Martin for his support. I fully intend to return with my family and enjoy more of his hospitality.
Very nice looking pub/restaurant located in village centre. Nicely decorated inside which provides a relaxing atmosphere. Prices of drinks are a little on the high side.
Average pub food ,wine very expensive food not cheap either Same as the dining area is nice but lots of room for improvement
We drove up from the South Midlands with the intention of arriving at this restaurant at a reasonable time for dinner, as we had dined here before. We arrived at 8:22 PM and as we approached the bar, we overheard the bartender telling the couple in front of us that the kitchen was already closed. It was a Monday evening, but if they have decided to close early in the week, it would be best if they update this information on their website. We decided to skip dining at this restaurant and instead stopped at the next M6 exit, as it is also a Robinsons establishment. We will be avoiding Robinsons establishments in the future.
Went for a two course sunday roast as a couple. Wasn’t a massive portion, only had two potatoes each which were tough like they’d been reheated. Some of the veg was undercooked and therefore crunchy/hard and the gravy was very watery and therefore a bit tasteless. The restaurant inside is nice with a nice atmosphere and the desserts were of a good size, just a shame about the main dinner
