Also a walnut brownie and a peanut butter cupcake cake. The banana pudding was so delicious with nilla and pieces of banana in every layer. The chocolate pudding was good. The walnut brownie was delicious and there were a a lot of walnuts. The peanut butter cupcake was good. The frosting was made out of peanut butter but a bit too sweet but good. I will be back especially for the banana pudding
Great custom made cakes! they are very accommodating and fast with only needing a few days notice. the cakes and all desserts are always fresh and look very cute i only wish there was online ordering for custom cakes you have to call to place the order and it's very busy so hard to hear and you have to repeat yourself. Would love if they updated their website for online custom cake orders.
Sweet Mandy B's can do no wrong. They're famous for their buttercream frosting, which is divine. But honestly everything I've had is great. It honestly might be too sweet for some people, but I have a sweet tooth so I like it. I've also tried the cranberry orange bread, thumbprint cookie, and peppermint cheesecake.
I love Sweet Mandy B's with all my heart! This is the best bakery in Chicago. I've been getting my birthday cakes from Sweet Mandy B's since I was literally in middle school. The buttercream frosting is out of this world. Sweet Mandy B's Confetti Cake is truly one of the best desserts I've ever had. The cake is light and fluffy, and the vanilla buttercream is sweet and not cloying. My family has also been ordering Thanksgiving and holiday desserts from here for years. Other favorites include all of their cupcakes, the Devil's Food cake (be warned: it's insanely rich), the chocolate mousse pie, and the frosted sugar cookies. If you're looking for desserts for a special occasion or you're just craving baked goods, Sweet Mandy B's is the answer!
The treats remain delicious. The staff continues to be friendly and helpful. But, after nearly seven years of being close to a weekly visitor, I am beginning to wonder if those days are over, mostly due to the fact that costs have been rising steadily over the past year. The peanut butter rice krispie treat, a staple of my dessert cravings since I first had it, has risen from $4.45 after the pandemic, to $4.95, to $5.25 a year ago, and now $5.95 a piece. I know prices and inflation have gone up, but we're talking a 40% increase on a dessert bar in essentially a year. They are still delicious and made with care, but it is pretty difficult to justify spending $6 on a treat that, until recently, was still expensive, but at least closer to reasonably priced. Many dessert places are priced quite high. Sugar Moon is excellent, but try walking out of there spending less than $40. Jennivee's is starting to creep up. Even a new spot like Sweet Rabbit is a bit high with certain items. SMB's used to be a reasonable alternative with equal-to-superior quality. I get it, I really do. But, and I hate to say this, today's treat may be my last one for quite some time.
